PADI kicks off season with "Viva la Danza" workshop

The Pan American Dance Institute will begin its 2009-2010 season with "Viva la Danza," a week-long flamenco residency with internationally renowned dancer and choreographer from Spain, Antonio Granjero, and his company, Entre Flamenco from Sept. 28-Oct. 2.


Under the direction of Granjero, the company will share a world of knowledge of flamenco dance to the Las Cruces community. Workshops in classical Spanish dance and Flamenco Palo will be offered by the company Monday, Sept. 28, through Friday, Oct. 2, from 6-7:20 p.m. and 7:30-8:50 p.m. All classes will be held on the campus of New Mexico State University at the Activity Center on the corner of Stewart and Locust Street.

"Del Sur" will be performed by the company at the Rio Grande Theater in Las Cruces on Saturday, Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 4 at 3 p.m. Tickets can be purchased for $20 for adults and $15 for students and seniors at the Pan American Center Box Office or through Ticketmaster at www.ticketmaster.com.
