Dona Ana County Head Start administrative offices moving

Dona Ana County Head Start, an affiliate of New Mexico State Univeristy, has moved its administrative offices from campus to Hadley Centre, 2540 El Paseo Road, Suite B. Head Start's new phone number is (505) 647-8733 and the fax number is (505) 647-8734.

The Head Start child development program in NMSU's O'Donnell Hall will continue its preschool operations. Other Head Start centers in San Miguel, Mesilla, Vado, Anthony, and those on Casa Drive and Lester Street in Las Cruces also will continue operation and will not be affected by the move.

Mary Jane Embury, Dona Ana County Head Start director, said a move was necessary to expand services and provide more office space for staff.

Head Start is a federally funded child development program for families of limited income who have children ages 3 to 5. Head Start provides educational, nutritional, medical, dental, mental health, parent involvement, family, transition, disability and transporation services.

Call (505) 647-8733 for information on Head Start, or stop by the new office to pick up an enrollment application.
