NMSU's Summer Dance Institute offered through June 25

Parents can still enroll their children in the Summer Dance Institute at New Mexico State University, continuing through June 25. The two-week program reaches students 7-18 years old.

"The institute features some of the best dance teachers in Las Cruces," said institute director Helen Myers, NMSU Dance Program coordinator.

The faculty includes Jose Tena, director of Ballet Folklorico de la Tierra del Encanto, who is teaching ballet folklorico and Ruben Ornelas, NMSU assistant dance professor, who is teaching ballet. Additional modern dance instructors are Mei Ling Po McKay of Court Youth Center and Laurie MacFarlane of the Las Cruces CityDance program.

Students take daily classes in the three dance techniques and share a closing day performance with their parents June 25.

The cost is $100 per student. For more information about the Summer Dance Institute, contact Helen Myers at (505) 646-2070.
