SATURDAY FAMILY WORKSHOP TO BE HELD AT MUSEUM


The New Mexico State University Museum will be holding its Saturday Family Workshop from 2-3:30 p.m. Nov. 7.

The free workshop will include an activity making corn-husk dance bracelets. The workshop is open to everyone.

UNIVERSITY MUSEUM HOST PUBLIC LECTURE SERIES

The New Mexico State University Museum will host public-lecture series the "Rio Grande Weaving, History and Tradition" at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, and the "Archaeology in the Underworld: The Ritual Caves of Mesoamerica" at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10.

On Nov. 7, Irvin Trujillo of Centinela Traditional Arts in Chimayo, N.M. will be discussing the Rio Grande tradition of Chimayo weaving.

The second series, on Nov. 10, will be presented by Holley Moyes, who will explain how archaeologists have only begun to understand the function and meaning of caves within ancient Mesoamerican ritual practice and cosmology. Moyes will discuss our current state of knowledge and illustrate some the more interesting finds from caves in the last decade.

ANTHROPOLOGICAL FILM SERIES CONTINES AT MUSEUM

The New Mexico State University Museum will continue their Anthropological Film Series at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13.

The museum will show "Pancho Villa and Other Stories," an account of the Mexican Revolution that focuses on the personal stories of men and women who were witnesses to and participants in the revolution.

NMSU BOOSTORE TO HOST AUTHOR SIGNING

The New Mexico State University Bookstore will host an author signing for Patricia Greathouse from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13.

Greathouse is the author of "Mariachi" and she played with Mariachi Azteca for nine years. Greathouse is a restaurant reviewer and food feature writer for the Sante Fe New Mexican and other publications.
