ASTC at NMSU announces audition for spring productions

The American Southwest Theatre Company (ASTC) at New Mexico State University Theatre Arts announces auditions for its spring 2010 productions being held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, at the Hershel Zohn Theatre with callbacks scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 17.


Needed are men and women ages 18-60. Those interested may sign up for an audition slot on the callboard in the Hershel Zohn Theatre lobby between Dec. 7 and Jan. 15.

All actors are asked to prepare one contemporary comic monologue running no longer than 60 seconds. NMSU Theatre Arts majors only are asked to prepare an additional contrasting monologue running no longer than 60 seconds.

Opening the spring season will be the company-written piece, "The Eurydice Project." Performances run Feb. 19 through March 7.

Following will be the hilarious classic comedy, "The Government Inspector," adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher. Performances run April 16 through May 2.
