ASTC AT NMSU THEATRE ARTS PRESENTS 'SUESSICAL'


The American Southwest Theatre Company at New Mexico State University Theatre Arts will present "Seussical" Nov. 28 and 29 and Dec. 2, 3 and 4 at the Hershel Zohn Theatre.

The beloved characters of Dr. Seuss come to life in the magical musical including Horton the Elephant, Gertrude McFuzz, the Cat in the Hat and others.

During the run of the show, the theater will be selling special Seuss-inspired merchandise and will hold their annual Toys for Tots Drive. Audience members are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped present to the show to help those in need.

Wednesday and Thursday showings will be at 7 p.m. Fridays, 8 p.m. Saturdays, 7:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. Sundays. For more information, call the NMSU Theatre/ASTC box office at (575) 646-4515 or (800) 646-ASTC.

PLAYER'S GRILL WILL OFFER LIVE JAZZ SATURDAY NIGHTS

The Player's Grill restaurant located inside the New Mexico State University Golf Course clubhouse will present live jazz performances every Saturday night from 6-9 p.m.

Former NMSU jazz ensemble member, Winfield Raglin III, will perform Nov. 28. Admission is $10 with NMSU identification or with an advance ticket available at The Player's Grill. Tickets can also be purchased at the door for $15.

CHRISTMAS EVENING OF SONG TO BENEFIT NMSU'S CENTER FOR THE ARTS

Well-respected Las Cruces community chorus, The New Desert Harmony Singers, will hold their first benefit concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, at the ballrooms in Corbett Center on the New Mexico State University campus.

Proceeds from the concert will benefit NMSU's Center for the Arts project. NDHS will be accompanied by the Crimson Chord Company who will help offer the audience a night filled with traditional Christmas music. Santa will be available at the event for pictures and desserts and beverages will kick-off the evening.

Tickets are $25 for general admission and are available at the Cutter Gallery on El Paseo Road and University Avenue, White's Music Box at 200 S. Downtown Mall and Hubbard's Music-n-More at 1108 Wyatt Dr. For more information, call Jill Grammer at (575) 646-3587.

KELLY CLARKSON SET TO PERFORM AT NMSU PAN AMERICAN CENTER

The first winner of "American Idol" Kelly Clarkson will share the New Mexico State University Pan American Center stage with Eric Hutchinson and Parachute at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 3.
