NMSU's Chile Camp begins this week

New Mexico State University's fourth annual Chile Camp, an orientation program focused on making the transition from high school to college easier for incoming freshmen, will be held July 21-24.

Chile Camp, sponsored by the university's student government, is run by 30 student counselors. The camp will feature social activities such as group discussions and dance parties for campers. A general assembly for all Chile Camp participants will be held July 21 from 2:45-4 p.m. at NMSU's Corbett Center Ballrooms. A barbecue takes place on the Horseshoe later that evening at 6 p.m., and a Midnight Yell, where future Aggies will learn about the school's time-honored traditions, will begin at 11:30 p.m at Corbett Center's Outdoor Stage.

On Thursday, July 22, discussion sessions dealing with college life will take place at 11 a.m. in Corbett Center. Representatives from student organizations and offices will be on hand at the Student Information Fair in Corbett Center, which begins at 3 p.m.
