Las Cruces community welcome to attend nontradational student workshop

The public is invited to attend a workshop for nontraditional and transfer students from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 28, in the Senate Chambers of New Mexico State University's Corbett Center Student Union.

Although the workshop is geared toward nontraditional students enrolled at NMSU for the fall 1999 semester, it is an excellent opportunity for local residents to receive information on pursuing or completing a higher education degree, said Terry Cook, associate director of NMSU's Center for Learning Assistance (CLA).

Workshop participants will learn about resources on campus, try out new learning strategies and discuss the challenges facing nontraditional students.

Refreshments will be served and the workshop is free. For more information call (505) 646-3136 or visit the CLA at Hardman Hall, Room 210.
