MPHSO to host Public Health Week at NMSU

The Master in Public Health Student Organization at New Mexico State University has partnered with campus and community organizations to host Public Health Week Monday - Friday, April 5-9, to provide information and tips on various health topics.

Tables will be set up in the Corbett Center Student Union from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day that week with a different topic to be discussed. Information relating to public health will be given to students.

Monday's topic will center on alcohol with representatives from the Fetal Alcohol Syndrome campaign and the campus Wellness, Alcohol and Violence Education Program (WAVE) will be on site. Tuesday, the NMSU counseling center will be on hand to provide information on mental health. Wednesday will focus on diabetes with the Student Health Center present to answer questions and give out information. WAVE will host Thursday's topic of healthy relationships discussing violence prevention. Friday is cancer prevention with representatives from the Relay for Life organization.

Students who stop by to learn more can be entered into a drawing for gift certificates to area restaurants.
