"Mimbres World" to open at NMSU Museum

"Mimbres World" to open at NMSU Museum "Mimbres World," an exhibition created by students at New Mexico State University, opens with a reception from 5-6 p.m. Thursday, May 4, at the NMSU Museum.

Museum studies students Ralph Gibson, Janice Greenslade and Marie Tighe are responsible for the creation, fabrication and display of "Mimbres World," which will run through August. The exhibit complements "Anasazi World," a major exhibit on display at the museum through October.

"Mimbres World" will include objects and text of the prehistoric peoples of southwest New Mexico "who are famous for the striking designs and representations they painted on their pottery."

The NMSU Museum is located in Kent Hall on University Avenue. The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. For more information, call the museum at (505) 646-3739.
