Pan American Dance Institute and DACC team up to offer dance classes for community

The Pan American Dance Institute and the New Mexico State University Dance Program are partnering with the Dona Ana Community College to offer dance and fitness classes to children, teens and adults beginning June 7 at the NMSU Activity Center.


The classes will be open to NMSU students, staff, faculty and community members and include a variety of dance classes.

Children's dance camps include a mom/pop and tot dance camp for parents and children ages 2 to 4, offered June 7-17. A second camp will run July 12 through August 2. A creative movement dance camp for ages 4 to 6 will run June 7-17 and July 13 through August 3. Hip hop dance camps for ages 7-10 will be offered June 7-17 and July 14-August 4. Days and times for classes vary.

Dance fitness classes consist of "Zumba! Latin Dance Fitness" courses running from 6-7 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, June 7-30 and July 12 through August 4.

Ballroom Dance for Beginners will be offered from 6-8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 8 through July 1.

The Latin Club Dance course will be offered from 6-8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, July 6-29.

All classes will be held at the NMSU campus in the Activity Center dance studios located on the 2nd floor. The Activity Center is located on the corner of Stewart and Locust.
