NMSU Career Expo seeks interested employers

New Mexico State University's Career Services is seeking employers from across the nation to participate in the 26th Annual Career Expo, an event that gives employers the opportunity to meet with students interested in networking and broadening their career services.

Tuesday, Sept. 21, is reserved for students majoring in business, agriculture and liberal arts; Wednesday, Sept. 22, is for engineering, science and technology majors. The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Corbett Center Ballrooms both days.

The event allows employers to give general information as well as discuss opportunities for internships, cooperative education positions or professional employment. Students attending the expo receive the advantage of searching for a job in a convenient location with many possible employer candidates.

"The quality of our students, as well as their flexibility and mobility, makes them good candidates for employers," said Roseanne Bensley, associate director of Career Services. "Employers are extremely pleased with the work experience NMSU students gain from cooperative education, internships, part-time, summer and volunteer experiences. This makes our students ready to enter the work force trained for their new positions."

The event is co-sponsored by Career Services and the College of Engineering. In the past, the expo has had more than 100 employers participate, making it one of the largest career fairs in New Mexico and West Texas.
