MUSIC DEPARTMENT HOSTS 24TH ANNUAL ALL-STATE PREPARATION CLINIC


The Music Department at New Mexico State University will provide an opportunity for students to learn the music for the All-State Audition from 9:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Sept. 17 at the Music Center. Voice faculty and advanced students will assist in the workshop. All interested students and directors who are preparing for All-State auditions are welcome to attend and are asked to RSVP ahead of time. Attendees should also bring copies of their audition pieces.

NMSU TEACHING ACADEMY PRESENTS SCIENCES WORKSHOP

The Teaching Academy at New Mexico State University will host the workshop "PRIMOS-Teaching Your Terminology: How definitions can be used to engage students in the life of your discipline," from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 13 in Milton Hall Room 50.

The interactive workshop, geared toward the sciences, will be led by Paul Strycker, a Ph.D. candidate in his sixth year of graduate studies at NMSU. Anyone with an interest in science, technology, engineering or mathematics is encouraged to attend.

NMSU ART GALLERY PRESENTS AMERICAN ART EXHIBIT

The New Mexico State University Art Gallery will feature Unmute: Text and Image in American Art 1970-2000 from Aug. 20 through Oct. 1. The display focuses on post-Minimalist late twentieth century art and images and text within the art.

The NMSU Art Gallery, located inside D.W. Williams Hall on University Avenue east of Solano Drive, is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
