American Southwest Theatre Company season tickets on sale

The American Southwest Theatre Company at New Mexico State University Theatre Arts is selling season tickets and coupon books for the upcoming season of entertainment.

The season will open with William Shakespeare's laugh-out-loud farce, "The Comedy of Errors," Sept. 24 through Oct. 10 at Hershel Zohn Theatre.

The holiday classic, "A Christmas Carol," will follow on Nov. 19, with the American Southwest Theatre Company's high Desert Play Development program and the classic thriller, "An Inspector Calls," premiering in the spring.

Season subscribers will also receive free tickets to the reading of the new play, "Good Lonely People," by Carol Carpenter, about a family of Democrats living in a Republican town in New Mexico on the night before the 2008 presidential election.

Season tickets cost $52 for NMSU faculty and staff and senior citizens, and $48 for NMSU students. A special "Take Your Pick" coupon book featuring eight ticket coupons redeemable for any performance costs $100.

In addition to cost savings, season subscribers get to vote for annual acting awards and receive priority reserved seating and invitations to special events.
