NMSU Media Specialist Housed in Albuquerque

LAS CRUCES -- Rena Larraņaga, assistant editor with New Mexico State University's College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences , began work in a new Albuquerque location this month. She is the first specialist in recent history from the college's agricultural communications department to be located outside Las Cruces.

"We are responding to a long-standing desire by our field offices to have an agricultural communications presence in northern New Mexico," said Terry Canup, head of agricultural communications. "We hope Rena can help us promote the college's academic, research and extension programs in the region surrounding Albuquerque."

Larraņaga also plans to improve visibility of the state's Small Farm Task Force, a group that coordinates educational programs for small farm operators in New Mexico's north-central mountain region.

She has worked with agricultural communications since 1995. Larraņaga earned her bachelor's degree at NMSU in horticulture in 1994 with minors in journalism and agricultural economics. She is a graduate of Tatum High School.

Larraņaga is located at 9301 Indian School Road NE, Suite 112. Her phone number is (505) 323-8604.
