University Art Gallery celebrates 25 years with various exhibits

The New Mexico State University Art Gallery will celebrate its 25th anniversary with a variety of exhibits and events throughout the 1999 season.

The exhibits and events are:

-- Sept. 11 to Oct. 24, "Bill Gersh: The Taos Years", a restrospective of the New Mexico expressionist painter organized by the Harwood Museum of Taos, N.M., along with "Low and Slow: Jack Parson's Photographs of Lowriders."

-- Oct. 28, The Georgia O'Keefe Museum in Santa Fe, N.M., will present a lecture on the artist and her work at the Corbett Center Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. -- Oct. 30-31, "4th Annual Gala Art Auction" at the Las Cruces Hilton.

-- Nov. 6-12, Special exhibition featuring the work of Vincent Figliola.

The University Art Gallery is located on the NMSU campus in Williams Hall. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, Thursday until 7 p.m. and Sunday from 1-5 p.m. Admission to the gallery is free and complimentary parking permits are available for visitors.
