Melon smashing comedian will perform during NMSU Homecoming

Gallagher, the stand-up comedian more aptly referred to as the "Wizard of Odd," will perform during New Mexico State University's Homecoming weekend. His show will be at 8 p.m. Oct. 8 at the Pan American Center.

His comedic antics include the "Sledge-O-Matic" a sledgehammer turned food processor. Gallagher's use of a beer gun and many more oddball props also have made him a national television star. His performances can be seen on Showtime, VH-1 and Comedy Central.

Gallagher also is known for his satire on American follies and his ability to localize his humor according to the city he is visiting.

"My humor makes people think," Gallagher said. "I want people to look more closely at this country and their lives to see the humor and absurdity in it all."

Tickets for the show go on sale Friday, Aug. 13. Individual ticket prices for the first 10 rows are $25.50 each and $22.50 each for the remainder of the Pan Am. Upper level tickets are $19 each. There is a $2 discount for students and alumni and a $5 discount for groups of 10 or more. Discounts apply to $22.50 and $19 seats only. Tickets can be purchased at NMSU's Pan Am Ticket Office, all Dillard's outlets or by phone at 1-800-654-9545.
