Women's Financial Information Program To Be Held

LAS CRUCES - Las Crucens can learn how to plan their financial futures Sept. 27-Nov. 8 at Women's Financial Information Program workshops sponsored by New Mexico State University's Cooperative Extension Service.

Topics to be discussed during the workshop include how to get financial information organized, developing a spending plan, banking and credit, managing your risks, how finances can be affected by major changes, investing for retirement and learning how and where to get professional financial help.

"Each topic of the workshop will be presented by a local expert, followed by small group discussions on seven different dates," said Pamela Henry-Pollat, Doņa Ana County Extension agent/home economics. "The sessions contain information targeted for women although men are welcome to attend too."

Workshop participants will meet from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. each Wednesday from Sept. 27 to Nov. 8 at the Village at Northrise, 2880 N. Roadrunner Parkway. Registration is $15.

The registration deadline is Sept. 25 and enrollment is limited to the first 60 paid applicants. The fee covers the cost of all seven workshops, a workbook, refreshments and handouts for each session. Need-based scholarships are available to help defer registration costs.

For more information on the workshops, contact Henry-Pollat at (505) 525-6649.
