Gail Muncrief Joins San Juan County Extension

LAS CRUCES - Gail Muncrief is the new home economist/4-H agent in San Juan County for New Mexico State University's Cooperative Extension Service.


Muncrief started work March 1 in Aztec. Her duties include conducting 4-H educational programs for youth and adult volunteer leaders.

Muncrief comes to New Mexico from Castle Rock, Colo., where she taught life management studies at local middle and high schools for three years. From 1986 to 1991, Muncrief taught home economics to junior high students in Billings, Montana. The Oklahoma native also was a 4-H home economist in Billings from 1985 to 1986.

Muncrief is a certified home economist and a member of the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences.

The Oklahoma State University (Stillwater) graduate holds a bachelor's degree, with a double major in home economics education and clothing, textiles and merchandising. She also holds a master's degree in education from Southwestern Oklahoma State University at Weatherford.
