NMSU announces 1999-2000 Classified Employees' Children's Scholarship winners

Six New Mexico State University students were awarded NMSU Classified Employees' Children's Scholarships for the 1999-2000 academic year.

The scholarships are awarded annually to continuing or entering NMSU students who are children, grandchildren or legal wards of current or former classified NMSU employees. Students are selected based on their academic achievement, personal goals and career ambitions.

The students are: Jamie Lynn Carroll, granddaughter of Jack Allen Davidson, Jr.; G. Lynn Coffman, daughter of Erlyne Britton; Erin Anne Hughes, granddaughter of Isabella Riddle; Peter R. Ibarbo, son of Pedro R. Ibarbo; Laura Lee Melton, daughter of Margaret Reese Melton; and Jonathan D. Saenz, grandson of Carole Bernal.

The students will be honored at a reception that begins at 3 p.m. Sept. 24 at Dove Hall.

Classified employees can contribute to the Classified Employees' Children's Scholarship fund through payroll deduction. Payroll deduction cards are available from NMSU's Development Office in Dove Hall, Room 224.
