Solar Design Basics Seminar Mar. 26 in Raton

LAS CRUCES -- Homeowners can learn the basics of passive solar home design during a two-hour seminar Mar. 26 in Raton.


The seminar, sponsored by New Mexico State University's Cooperative Extension Service and the New Mexico Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources Department, will educate participants on energy efficiency in home design, advantages of solar heating and types of passive solar applications. Sun angles, thermal mass and solar cooling also will be discussed.

The workshop will feature Mark Chalom of Solar Design & Analysis.

The session runs from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Raton High School Library. Registration is $5 per person before Mar. 19 and $6 thereafter. For more information, contact Shelly Porter at (505) 445-8071.
