State senator to talk ghosts at NMSU library

New Mexico state Sen. Mary Jane Garcia will speak about "The Ghosts of Dona Ana" at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, at the New Mexico State University Branson Hall Library.

The presentation, a library Special Collections event, will be held on the Second Floor, East Wing of Branson Hall.

Garcia's first-hand experiences with ghosts date from her childhood in the village of Dona Ana, north of Las Cruces. They are recounted in the book "Adobe Angels: The Ghosts of Las Cruces and Southern New Mexico" by Antonio R. Garcez, published by Santa Fe Red Rabbit Press in 1996.

Garcia's lecture is free and open to the public. Attendees from off-campus may park in Lot 17 North, between Corbett Center and Milton Hall, or Lot 45 near the New Library. For more information, call Special Collections at (505) 646-6122.
