Denny Joins Otero County Cooperative Extension Office

LAS CRUCES - Mindy Denny joined New Mexico State University Cooperative Extension Service on Jan. 1 as Otero County's new home economics extension agent. Her interests include developing programs on stress management and conflict resolution, as well as maintaining current initiatives in nutrition, health and home economics.

"I've very excited about being in Otero County," Denny said. "I'm looking for exciting things to happen." As part of her new duties she also hopes to increase participation on non-traditional 4-H projects, such as consumerism and computer science.

Prior to joining Extension, she served five years as Texas A&M University county extension agent - family and consumer sciences in Hill and Wilson counties in central Texas.

A native of Carlsbad, Denny received her bachelor's degree in human development and family studies from Texas Tech University, and a master's degree in counseling psychology with a specialization in marriage and family from Tarleton State University.
