4-H Members Earn Awards at NMSU

LAS CRUCES-4-H members collected awards from 28 statewide contests July 15 during the State 4-H Conference at New Mexico State University.

BERNALILLO COUNTY: Hippology team-Lisa Bustos, Kelly Horton (HP), Gina MacFarlane and Megan Sprague. Home Economics Bowl team-Amanda Dearholt, Clinton Galloway, Whitney Kupferer and Sean Malone. Horse Bowl team-Brendan Burns, Lisa Bustos, Gina MacFarlane (HP) and Megan Sprague.

CATRON COUNTY: Livestock judging-Chance Williams (HP). Wildlife habitat evaluation-Andrew Nordquist (HP).

DONA ANA COUNTY: Impromptu public speaking-Amanda Lowry (HP). Home economics presentation-Brittany Ragsdale (HP). Horse public speaking-Laurence Grooms (HP). Fashion Magic clothing coordination winner and Fashion Magic overall HP-Amanda Lowry. Fashion Magic in the marketplace winner-Jamie Ragsdale.

EDDY COUNTY: Prepared public speaking-Denny Burnett(HP). Wool judging team-Denny Burnett (HP), Allison Klein, Courtney Klein and Marlee Runyan.

GRANT COUNTY: General presentation-Amanda Scarsella (HP).

HARDING COUNTY: Livestock Skillathon team-Brandon Herron (HP), Jacob Herron, Loretta Laumbach and Katie Taylor.

HIDALGO COUNTY: Land judging-Raynee Ward (HP).

LEA COUNTY: Consumer decision making team-Alyssa Bromley, Rachel Reagan, Samantha Stroud and Andy Wilhoit. Fashion Revue senior clothing construction/casualwear winner-Tommie Hall. Fashion Revue senior clothing coordinates winner-Samantha Stroud.

ROOSEVELT COUNTY: Agricultural presentation-Adrienne Coe (HP).

SAN JUAN COUNTY: Horse judging team-Giuliana DiPiazza, Jered Kuebler (HP), Kimberley Sanders and Aspen Selby. Fashion Revue senior clothing construction/formalwear and Fashion Revue overall HP-Courtney Stark. Parliamentary procedure team-Justin Decker, Jennifer Doyle, Ryan Painter, Ashley Riley, Jason Tomko and J.T. Van Huss.

SIERRA COUNTY: Range management team-Marissa Ham, Tawney Lindsay, Klessy Muncy and Mary Beth Shivers.

TORRANCE COUNTY: Consumer decision making-Jace McMath (HP). Livestock judging team-Judd Gardner, Clayton Gardner, Jace McMath and Jerra McMath. Meats judging team-Tate Corliss, Shayna Dunlap, Judd Gardner (HP) and Jace McMath.

VALENCIA COUNTY: Entomology-Bryce Richard (HP). Fashion Magic wardrobe planning winner-Jennifer Driskell. Wildlife habitat evaluation team-Eric Garcia, Adam Honeyfield, Dexter Huber and Dustie Powell.

4-H is the largest youth organization with 6.4 million members. New Mexico has 72,500 members representing 447 clubs. 4-H members participate in contests, service projects and activities to develop leadership, citizenship and life skills.
