NMSU MUSIC DEPARTMENT PRESENTS LAS CRUCES SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA


The Las Cruces Symphony Orchestra- Classics Three, featuring La Catrina Quartet, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 4 and at 3 p.m. Dec. 5 at New Mexico State University's Atkinson Recital Hall.

The performance will feature NMSU's Lonnie Klein as music director/coordinator. It is sponsored by Friends of Mathematics & Music, Joseph Kist and Charles and Nita Swartz.

UNIVERSITY MUSEUM PRESENTS PUNCH TIN LUMINARIAS WORKSHOP

The University Museum at New Mexico State University will present a special holiday workshop on making punch tin luminarias at 2 p.m. Dec. 4.

The University Museum is located in Kent Hall at University Avenue and Solano Drive on the NMSU campus.

The Department of Music at New Mexico State University will present an honors recital, featuring the best student soloists of the fall semester, at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 5 at Atkinson Recital Hall.

ASNMSU HOSTS 26TH ANNUAL 'NOCHE DE LUMINARIAS'

Five thousand luminarias will brighten New Mexico State University's Las Cruces campus during the 26th annual "Noche de Luminarias" from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5.

Noche de Luminarias is primarily sponsored by Associated Students of NMSU, with contributions from Corbett Center, Campus Activities and Aramark. Refreshments and entertainment will be provided. The event is free and open to the public.

ASTC AT NMSU THEATRE ARTS PRESENTS 'A CHRISTMAS CAROL'

The American Southwest Theatre Company at New Mexico State University Theatre Arts will present Tom Smith's adaptation of the Charles Dickens holiday classic, "A Christmas Carol," at 7:30 p.m. Dec.4 and at 2 p.m. Dec. 5 at Hershel Zohn Theatre.

NMSU ART GALLERY PRESENTS MODERN DESIGN/FOLK ART EXHIBIT

The Art Gallery at New Mexico State University will present a modern design/folk art exhibition from Oct. 15 through Dec. 17.

The exhibition joins together folk art objects collected by designer Alexander Girard and examples of his modern furniture, textiles and films for the Herman Miller Company to explore the intersections of handcraft and machine production, mid-century modernist esthetics and folk art.

The NMSU Art Gallery, located inside D.W. Williams Hall on University Avenue east of Solano Drive, is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
