ASTC at NMSU Theatre Arts presents spring auditions

The American Southwest Theatre Company at New Mexico State University Theatre Arts will hold auditions for its spring 2011 productions beginning in January.

Men and women ages 18-30 are needed for the productions. Auditions will be held at the Hershel Zohn Theatre on the NMSU campus from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 15, with callbacks scheduled for Jan. 16. Anyone who is interested may sign up for an audition slot on the callboard in the Hershel Zohn Theatre lobby Jan. 3 through the 14.

Participants should prepare one contemporary monologue. The monologue should be no more than 60 seconds long. The NMSU Theatre Arts majors only are asked to prepare an additional contemporary monologue under 60 seconds long.

The edgy comedy, "Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead," will open the spring production season. Performances will run Feb.18 through March 6.

Closing the season will be the classic thriller, "An Inspector calls," by J.B. Priestly. The roles of Inspector Goole, Arthur Birling and Sybil Birling have been pre-cast. Performances will run April 15 through May1.

All productions will be performed at the Hersel Zohn Theatre.
