UNIVERSITY MUSEUM TO HOST CONCHO BELT-MAKING WORKSHOP


Visitors to the University Museum at New Mexico State University from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 12, will get the opportunity to make their own version of the traditional silver and turquoise Southwestern concho belt.

The University Museum is located in Kent Hall at University Avenue and Solano Drive on the NMSU campus. Weather permitting, the workshop will be held in the museum courtyard. For more information, call 575-646-5161.

WORLD-RENOWNED PIANIST TO PERFORM AT NMSU

Pianist Stephen Beus, an American musician who is recognized as one of the most promising pianists of his generation, will perform at 7:30 p.m. March 14 at Atkinson Recital Hall at New Mexico State University.

Beus will play works by Bach-Busoni, Griffes, Medtner and Liszt.

NMSU DEPARTMENT OF MUSIC PRESENTS 'WINDS AND FRIENDS'

The Department of Music at New Mexico State University will present "Winds and Friends," at 7:30 p.m. March 15 at Atkinson Recital Hall.

The event will feature NMSU Symphonic Winds with Monty Hill as conductor, the NMSU Symphonic Band with William Clark as conductor and the Las Cruces High School Bands with Trae Blanco as conductor.

NMSU ART GALLERY PRESENTS 2011 JURIED STUDENT SHOW

The New Mexico State University Art Gallery will present the 2011 Juried Student Exhibition from March 11-31.
The show will exhibit up to three original works of art each of undergraduate and graduate NMSU students.

The gallery is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and is located in D.W. Williams Hall on University Avenue east of Solano Drive.
