MESILLA VALLEY CONCERT BAND TO PERFORM AT NMSU


The Mesilla Valley Concert Band will perform at 3 p.m. March 20 at Atkinson Recital Hall at New Mexico State University.

Guest artist William Leland will perform George Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue." The band will also perform Sergei Prokofieff's "Peter and the Wolf," arranged by Ken Neidig. Neidig's latest custom arrangement, which honors 20th century jazz musician Artie Shaw, will also be performed.

CULTURAL SERIES SLIDES INTO NMSU

Irish band Slide will perform at 8 p.m. at Atkinson Recital Hall at New Mexico State University.

Slide originated in 1999 when the band began performing in pubs for a local music festival in Bandon in County Cork, Ireland. The band was awarded the Best Newcomer distinction by Music Magazine in 2001, which led the band to perform at various venues throughout Europe.

NMSU ART GALLERY PRESENTS 2011 JURIED STUDENT SHOW

The New Mexico State University Art Gallery will present the 2011 Juried Student Exhibition from March 11-31.

The show will exhibit up to three original works of art each of undergraduate and graduate NMSU students.

The gallery is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and is located in D.W. Williams Hall on University Avenue east of Solano Drive.
