NMSU Alamogordo recognizes outstanding graduates

New Mexico State University Alamogordo honored the spring 2011 Outstanding Graduates at a luncheon Thursday, April 20, at Memories Restaurant.

The NMSU Alumni Association selected a recipient from each of Alamogordo's three divisions based on outstanding scholarship, leadership and participation in university and community activities.

The Humanities, Social Sciences and Education Division honored Tammy Dodson, who will receive a degree in education. Dodson is a Crimson Scholar, a Crimson Pin Recipient, Meritorious Graduate and on the dean's list. She was the social science club secretary, student senator, PTK president and graduates with a 4.0 GPA.

The Mathematics, Engineering, Science and Health Division honored Valerie Ham who majors in nursing. Ham was the recipient of the Allied Health Scholarship and the College Affordability Scholarship and is graduating with a 3.5 GPA.

The Professional Occupations, Technologies and Fine Arts Division honored Jason Vraa who majors in information technology. Vraa is a Crimson Scholar and a Meritorious Graduate with a GPA of 3.97.
