Campos has worked in higher education in the Southwest for more than 20 years and comes to NMSU from the University of Texas El Paso, where she served in numerous capacities, including institutional research and planning, enrollment services, student affairs, and most recently as the assistant dean of students.

Campos also has worked extensively on the NMSU campus, serving as adjunct faculty in the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences and working in institutional research. She received all three of her degrees from NMSU as well.

"As alumni, we have the privilege and responsibility to support the university vision to provide educational opportunities for future generations, promote research and extension services, engage in our community, and support the economic development of the state," Campos said. "I am honored to serve my university and look forward to working with other Aggies to promote university goals and celebrate the successes of NMSU."

As executive director, Campos will support advancement of the university, provide support to the NMSU Alumni Association and its chapters and coordinate alumni efforts with the different colleges. She also will work to engage students, alumni and friends of NMSU in programs and networks to help establish lifelong relationships with the university.

Campos said she is most looking forward to the people aspect of her new position.

"There are thousands of NMSU graduates and friends who have amazing stories to tell about how the university provided the foundation needed for their careers and personal goals. I am looking forward to sharing the NMSU spirit and pride with my fellow Aggies," she said.
