New Mexico State University Board of Regents to meet Dec. 16

The Board of Regents of New Mexico State University will meet at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, in the Regents Room of the Educational Services Center on the main NMSU campus in Las Cruces.

Items on the proposed agenda include:

--Approval of the financial report for the fiscal year that ended June 30.
--Approval of a resolution regarding revenue bonds, Series 2001.
--Selection of an architect for a health and social services building on the main campus.
--Selection of an architect for remodeling the Women's Residence Center on the main campus.
--Land acquisition for the East Mesa Center of the Dona Ana Branch Community College.
--Policy for naming university facilities.

The regular session of the board will be preceded by a closed executive session at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15, in the President's Office, Hadley Hall, for the purpose of discussing personnel, real estate and legal matters.

The regents also will participate in activities related to NMSU's fall commencement. The graduation ceremony, scheduled for 2 p.m. Dec. 16 in the Pan American Center, will include the inauguration of NMSU President Jay Gogue and the awarding of an honorary doctorate to NMSU alumnus Robert W. Davis, retired president of Chevron Chemical Co.
