NMSU Extension to host commercial fruit growers workshop in Bosque Farms

BOSQUE FARMS, NM - A free workshop for commercial fruit growers in the Middle Rio Grande Valley will be held 8:30 a.m.-noon Friday, March 16, at the Bosque Farms Church of Christ, 1635 Bosque Farms Blvd.

The workshop is presented by New Mexico State University's Valencia County Cooperative Extension Service. Topics will include basic orchard management and notable pest problems in the Middle Rio Grande Valley, including threats from new invasive species, such as the spotted wing drosophila and brown marmorated stink bug. Tess Grasswitz, NMSU Extension integrated pest management specialist, will present information on IPM methods for orchards.
