DANCESPORT COMPANY TO HOST DINNER AND DANCING


NMSU Dance Sport Company will host "Venetian Nights" Saturday, March 10, from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Rentfrow Gym, located on campus at the corner of Stewart and Williams. "Venetian Nights" will include a waltz lesson, spaghetti dinner and social dancing.

Tickets are $10 for students, $15 for student couples, $15 for adults and $25 for adult couples. Tickets may be purchased from the NMSU Dance Program at Rentfrow Gym. For more information, please call (575) 202-4368.

ART GALLARY PRESENTS JURIED STUDENT SHOW AND RECEPTION

The NMSU Art Gallery will celebrate the opening of the annual Juried Student Show with an opening reception at 5 p.m. on Friday, March 16. During the reception, awards and scholarships will be given to the recipients. The exhibit will feature student work of all mediums and will be on display until April 4. DANCESPORT COMPANY SPONSORS PROFESSIONAL DANCING WORKSHOPS

The New Mexico State University DanceSport Company is sponsoring their Blues & West Coast Swing Workshop led by professional instructor Matthew Loukopoulos Saturday, March 3, at the NMSU Corbett Center Aggie Underground.

The day will begin with a blues workshop-level one from 10-11 a.m. followed by the level two class, which will cover dips and lunges, from 11 a.m.-noon. It will continue in the afternoon with the introduction to west coast swing workshop from 2-3 p.m. and end with the level two class, which will cover whip and whip variations, from 3-4 p.m.

HISTORY DEPARTMENT CONCLUDES IMMIGRATION SPEAKER SERIES

The NMSU Department of History will conclude its speaker series titled "Arriving in America: The Challenge of Immigrants and Minorities in Modern American History" with David Gutierrez of the University of California at San Diego. Gutierrez will present the series' capstone lecture on "The Suppression of Immigrants' Rights and the Impending Crisis of Citizenship," on Monday, March 12, at 7:30 p.m. in the Stan Fulton Center.

MUSIC DEPARTMENT HOSTS SYMPHONIC BAND CONCERT

The NMSU Music Department will host the Symphonic Band concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, at the Atkinson Recital Hall. This free concert will feature music from Charles Ives, Martin Mailman, Malcomb Arnold and Kenneth Alford.

The NMSU Symphonic Band is comprised of wind and percussion students who choose to continue to play in band during the spring semester. The ensemble will play twice this semester, with the next concert to be held April 22.

AGGIE ATHLETICS PRESENTS TENNIS, BASEBALL, SOFTBALL AND EQUESTRIAN

Women's Tennis will face Fresno State at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 10, at the Aggie Tennis Complex.

Aggie Baseballwill face Kent State at 3:05 and 7:05 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at the Presley Askew Field. The series will conclude at 1:05 p.m. on Sunday, March 11.

The New Mexico State Equestrian team will face Fresno State at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 10, at the NM State Equestrian Center. This event is free to the public.

Aggie Softball will face the University of New Mexico at 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, at the NMSU Softball Complex.

Aggie Baseball will face Southeast Missouri State at 6:05 p.m. Friday, March 16, at the Presley Askew Field. The series will continue at 3:05 and 7:05 p.m. on Saturday, March 17.

Aggie Baseball will face the University of Texas-Pan American at 6:05 p.m. Friday, March 23, at the Presley Askew Field. The series will continue at 3:05 and 7:05 p.m. on Saturday, March 24.

Men's Tennis will face the University of Texas at Arlington at 1 p.m. Friday, March 30, at the Aggie Tennis Complex.

Women's Tennis will face Abilene Christian University at 2 p.m. Friday, March 30, at the Aggie Tennis Complex.

Aggie Softball will face the University of Hawai'i at 6 p.m. Friday, March 30, at the NMSU Softball Complex.
