U.S. News & World Report ranks NMSU in top 125 graduate schools for education

New Mexico State University's education graduate school program is ranked as one of the top 125 programs in the nation, coming in at number 106 on the U.S. News & World Report 2013 Best Graduate Schools rankings.

NMSU came out ahead of area peer schools like Texas Tech University ranked at 130 and University of Texas at El Paso coming in at 174. The University of New Mexico tied NMSU's rank of 106.

"The College of Education has continued to climb in the rankings for the past 3 years," said NMSU College of Education Dean Michael Morehead. "The specific changes that made this possible are the ratings by superintendents and the external and grant funding attained by the faculty. The improved ranking is a direct reflection of the quality of our programs, faculty and graduates."

U.S. News & World Report surveyed graduate programs at 280 schools granting doctoral degrees in fall 2011 and early 2012. Data from the 238 responding schools were used to calculate rankings based on a weighted average of 10 measures.
