NMSU DOMENICI INSTITUTE HOSTS ANNUAL CONFERENCE


The New Mexico State University Domenici Institute will host the fifth-annual Domenici Conference Sept. 19-20, at the Las Cruces Convention Center. This year's conference speakers include Democratic campaign strategist James Carville, former President George W. Bush adviser Karen Hughes, Colorado Rockies co-owner Linda Alvarado and former 9/11 Commission member Michael Hurley. The themes being addressed are the 2012 elections, national security and entrepreneurship.

The conference is free to New Mexico State University students. The cost to attend the event is $50. Members of the public, as well as NMSU faculty, staff and students, can register for the conference at domenici.nmsu.edu. For more information on the conference and registration, call 575-646-2066.

NMSU CULTURAL SERIES PRESENTS CANTECA DE MACAO

NMSU will continue the 2012 Cultural Series with Canteca de Macao at 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, at the Atkinson Music Recital Hall. An award-winning Spanish collective, Canteca de Macao represents the emergent multiculturalism birthed, raised and developed in the streets of Madrid. Their musical style can be translated into a mix of rhythms such as rumba, ska, reggae and flamenco that have allowed and inspired the creation of all of their songs.

Tickets are $15 or $10 for NMSU students with a valid ID and are available at the Pan Am Center Box Office in advance and at the door the evening of the performance. For more information, call the Pan Am Center Box Office at 575-646-1420.

DANNY VILLANUEVA VICTORY CLUB HOSTS MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL

The 3rd Floor Bistro at the Danny Villanueva Victory Club will host Monday night football beginning at 5 p.m. every Monday night during football season. There will be a free buffet, sandwiches and drinks for purchase with the best view in Las Cruces.

AGGIE ATHLETICS PRESENTS VOLLEYBALL, TENNIS AND CROSS COUNTRY

Aggie Volleyball will face Louisiana Tech at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 20, at the Pan American Center.

Women's Tennis will continue the Aggie Invitational Saturday, Sept. 15, through Sunday, Sept. 16. The event lasts all day and is free to the public.

Cross Country will host the Kachina Classic Saturday, Sept. 15.

Aggie Football will host a pep rally Friday, Sept. 21, in the dirt parking lot next to the football stadium. The event will feature free giveaways with a bonfire to burn a Lobo, who the Aggies will face Saturday. Coaches, cheerleaders and the band will be in attendance for this free event.

Men's Tennis will host the Aggie Invitational Friday, Sept. 21, through Sunday, Sept. 23. The event lasts all day and is free to the public
