Search committee appointed to seek new NMDA director

New Mexico State University President Jay Gogue has appointed an eight-person committee to seek candidates for the position of director of the New Mexico Department of Agriculture.

uBois, who has held the post for 15 years, is retiring in June.

The director is hired by the New Mexico State University Board of Regents, reports to the Board of Regents and also serves as a member of the governor's cabinet.

Lowell Catlett, a Regents Professor in the NMSU College of Agriculture and Home Economics, will chair the committee that will conduct a national search for DuBois' successor.

Other members of the search committee are Greg Alpers, a senior sales representative with Dow AgroSciences; Christina Chavez Kelley, assistant to the president of New Mexico State University; Larry Dominguez, director of NMDA's Agricultural and Environmental Services Division; Bob Gallagher, NMSU regent; Joe Gomez, director of NMDA's Standards and Consumer Services Division; Sharon Lombardi, executive director of the Dairy Producers of New Mexico; and Marsha Wright, an agricultural specialist in NMDA's Agricultural Programs and Resources Division.
