New Mexico State University events Nov. 17-24

The Las Cruces International Mariachi Conference will return to NMSU's Pan American Center for two events on Saturday, Nov. 17, and Sunday, Nov. 18. First, enjoy the music of Ezequiel Peña, Las Colibri and Mariachi Cobre at the 19th Annual Spectacular Concert at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17.


Tickets range from $19 to $54 with a $3 discount for military and a $2 discount for NMSU students, faculty, staff, alumni and retirees. Applicable fees may apply. Tickets may be purchased at the Pan Am Ticket Office, all Ticketmaster outlets, charge by phone at 1-800-745-3000, or online at http://tinyurl.com/9vg9ecq .

The following morning, all are invited to attend the sacred Mariachi Mass with Bishop Ricardo Ramirez presiding. This non-denominational event held at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 18, features workshop students, local and regional music and dance groups and liturgical music from Mariachi Cobre.

AUTHOR READINGS, SIGNINGS AT BARNES & NOBLE AT NEW MEXICO STATE UNIVERSITY

The Barnes & Noble at NMSU Bookstore & Café will host the book signing of Briana Haro's "A Fantasy Novel" at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, in the 2nd floor northeast Living Room. This event is free and open to the public. Barnes & Noble at NMSU provides free public parking in designated spaces.

STORY TIME WITH CLIFFORD THE BIG RED DOG

Come share the excitement and love of reading with your child as Clifford the Big Red Dog returns to the Barnes & Noble at NMSU Bookstore & Café at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, and at noon Sunday, Nov. 18. Both days are free and open to the public.

ROCKY HORROR SHOW COMES TO NMSU

NMSU's American Southwest Theatre Company presents Richard O'Brien's campy cult classic musical Friday, Nov. 16, through Sunday, Dec. 2, at Hershel Zohn Theater, 3014 McFie Circle on the NMSU campus. The production is the company's final one at the Hershel Zohn. Showtime is 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday.

"The Rocky Horror Show" follows one fateful evening in the lives of a clean-cut, newly engaged couple Brad and Janet as their car breaks down outside of Dr. Frank 'N' Furter's castle. Once inside, their lives will never be the same. The musical includes classic songs such as "Sweet Transvestite" and "The Time Warp."

AGGIE ATHLETICS PRESENTS BASKETBALL

Men's Basketball will face Northern New Mexico University at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, at the Pan American Center.

Men's Basketball will face the University of Louisiana at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23, at the Pan American Center, as part of the 2K Sports Classic benefiting the Wounded Warrior Project.

Women's basketball will host the Aggie Hotel Encato Thanksgiving Classic Friday, Nov. 23 and Saturday, Nov. 24. On Friday, the Aggies will face George Mason University at 5 p.m., with Drake University going against the University of California-Irvine at 2:30 p.m.
