NMSU Tribal Extension to host holiday craft showcase in Shiprock

SHIPROCK, N.M. - Making holiday memories is the theme for the 2012 Holiday Craft Showcase hosted by New Mexico State University's Tribal Extension Service from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, at the Shiprock Chapter House on U.S. Highway 64.

"We had a great turnout last year. It was a fun-filled evening where each participant explored their creative side," said Leah Platero, NMSU Tribal Extension home economist. "Felting book markers were a unique craft, which was very popular. I'm sure it will be a hit again this year."

Extension home economists from Bernalillo, Sandoval, Torrance and McKinley counties will lead a variety of craft activities. Crafts will include a variety of Christmas ornaments and decorations, including a candy tray made from candy mints.

Cost is $10 per person. RSVP to participate by calling 505-368-3973.
