New Mexico State University Interim President Manuel Pacheco and the NMSU Santa Fe Alumni Chapter will host a reception at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, at the New Mexico National Guard Bataan Memorial Museum, 1050 Old Pecos Trail, in Santa Fe.

The reception will include the premiere of "Among the Dust of Thieves," a 45-minute film written and directed by Sean Pilcher and Matt Wilson, graduates of NMSU's Creative Media Institute. The film tells the story of the events leading up to and the investigation of the disappearance of Col. Albert Jennings Fountain and his son. "Among the Dust of Thieves" takes place at the end of the 19th century when cattle rustlers roamed lawlessly through the deserts of the New Mexico Territory. Fountain was a prominent leader from Mesilla who had a significant impact upon the founding of NMSU. His disappearance has never been resolved and is a compelling story of the region.

There are more than 2,400 NMSU alumni in the Santa Fe area.
