NMSU Arrowhead Innovation Network to help jumpstart ventures with HD3 Discovery Day

The New Mexico State University Arrowhead Innovation Network, in partnership with High Desert Discovery District, will host HD3 Discovery Day on March 21 at the New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum. The application deadline is Feb. 15.

HD3 Discovery Day allows New Mexico innovators the opportunity to evaluate and discuss their innovation, their challenges, strategy and market promise in front of a highly experienced group of business achievers in a private one-on-one setting.

"The Arrowhead Innovation Network is pleased to partner with HD3 for Discovery Day," said Garrey Carruthers, NMSU College of Business dean. "This will benefit the faculty and students of NMSU and the entire region through accelerating start-ups and economic growth."

This will be the first of four statewide Discovery Days in 2013. This year is the first time the event will be held in the southwestern part of New Mexico.

"We've heard feedback from innovators in every corner of the state that HD3 programs would be easier to access if we took the show on the road. So that is exactly what we are doing," said Michelle Miller, HD3 founder and CEO. "We couldn't be more excited to work with NMSU, regional business leaders and entrepreneurs all over the southern part of New Mexico to host Discovery Day this March."

Anyone who meets the criteria is welcome to apply to present their discovery to a highly experienced group of entrepreneurs, innovators, management experts and investors. Those wishing to apply must have a clean and protected intellectual property path; an understanding of the market need or problem that the discovery seeks to serve or solve; an opportunity that is scalable with the potential to become a high impact product or high growth enterprise; an idea of what the innovator needs to see their product succeed in the marketplace and an idea of the initial capital required to commercialize the innovation; and what that capital would be used for.
