CULTURAL SERIES CONCLUDES WITH DALA

The NMSU Arts and Sciences Cultural Series concludes at 8 p.m. Thursday, March 8, at the Atkinson Recital Hall, with Dala. Dala is an acoustic-folk two-piece musical group, made up of Sheila Carabine and Amanda Walther, both of Scarborough, Ontario. Since their formation in 2002, Carabine and Walther's rich vocal harmonies, their sense of humor, and their numerous live appearances have largely increased their fan base. Both girls were raised in musical families and utilize their skills with both guitar and piano. Drawing upon influences like The Beatles, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young and Bob Dylan, Dala write songs that are both catchy and insightful. Walther's ethereal soprano voice blends seamlessly with Carabine's velvety alto, creating the lush harmonies that have become their trademark. Dala are equally entertaining between songs, telling funny and down to earth stories that make every show unique.

Tickets are $10 for NMSU students or $15 for adults and can be purchased online at http://bit.ly/N3oLG9 or at the Pan American Center Ticket Office. Additional fees may apply.
