Project Lead the Way Conference open to teachers, counselors and administrators

The Engineering New Mexico Resource Network at New Mexico State University will present the New Mexico Project Lead the Way Annual Conference for middle and high school teachers, counselors and administrators. The conference will cover the goals and benefits of the Project Lead the Way programs being implemented in New Mexico schools.

Project Lead the Way gives middle and high school students early exposure in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math. Every Las Cruces middle and high school is involved with Project Lead the Way, and 24 high schools and a dozen middle schools statewide also participate. Last year more than 8,000 New Mexico students participated. They were among the more than 400,000 students located in all 50 states and Washington, D.C., who participate in Project Lead the Way programs.

NMSU became an affiliate to PLTW in 2006, providing support and leadership for the program in New Mexico.

The conference is set for 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, March 11, at the NMSU Albuquerque Center, 4501 Indian School Road NE Suite 100. Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided. There is no cost for this conference, however registration is required.
