High school juniors and seniors invited to attend Spring Visitors' Day

High school juniors and seniors interested in New Mexico State University are invited to attend the 2002 Spring Visitors' Day Monday, Feb. 18, on the university's main campus in Las Cruces.


Visitors' Day is a chance for high school students and their parents to learn about New Mexico State's degree programs, student life and financial aid.

"Last year more than 3,500 people attended the event and more are expected this year," said Delia DeLeon, New Mexico State admissions counselor. "The World Wide Web is bringing in students from a lot more places across the country."

Check-in begins at 8 a.m. at the Pan American Center where students can pick up official schedules and free T-shirts.

Starting at 9:15 a.m., prospective students will be escorted to the university departments of their choice and will have the opportunity to visit with faculty and staff.

Financial aid presentations will be given at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. in the Corbett Center Auditorium and the Financial Aid staff will be available throughout the day at the Educational Services Building to assist students and parents in completing 2002-2003 financial aid applications.

Walking tours of the New Mexico State campus will take place every half hour from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Tours will meet in the Corbett Center Lobby. An all-you-can-eat buffet will be available for $6 to all Visitors' Day participants at the Taos Grand Buffet. Booths from various student and university organizations will be set up in Corbett Center throughout the day.
