NMSU Kinesiology Club hosts Aggie Dash

On Saturday, April 20, New Mexico State University's Kinesiology Club will host the first-ever Aggie Dash, a 2.5-mile obstacle course race, taking place along the edge of the NMSU campus.

Teams of four will work together to complete the course, encountering obstacles including a mud pit, log carry and military crawl.

"It's another way for people to stay fit and challenge themselves - it teaches teamwork and is something really active to do," said Tony McClary, activities coordinator for NMSU's Kinesiology Club. "We really just want people to have fun with it."

Participants are encouraged to dress up and prizes will be awarded to teams based on course achievements and costume originality.

Registration and event check-in will begin at 8 a.m. outside the Stan Fulton Center in Aggie Memorial Stadium, located at the corner of Wells Street and Arrowhead Road on the NMSU campus. Preregistration is available through Active.com. The event will begin at 9 a.m.

The Aggie Dash fee is $30 per person, however there is a $5 discount for signing up as a team. Individuals who do not have a team will have one assigned to them. A portion of the event profit will sponsor a scholarship for after-school programs through the city of Las Cruces Parks and Recreation Department.

There will be water available on the course, but participants are welcome to bring additional water and snacks.
