Entrepreneur and business launch expert to speak at Arrowhead Center reception

New Mexico State University's Arrowhead Center will welcome guest speaker Susanna Kass, an expert in launching new products, driving new business growth, strategic planning and global partnerships, at a reception from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, at the center.

Kass, who has more than 30 years of experience in corporate development and business operations with companies like mOasis, Trilliant, Sun Microsystems and eBay, will speak on the reception's theme, "Driving Regional Innovation & Entrepreneurship: Feeding the Pipeline."

The Arrowhead Innovation Network reception, which is free and open to the public, will kick off with a greeting from NMSU President Garrey Carruthers and Kass' address will be followed by "Tech Talks" ? short presentations highlighting innovations at Arrowhead Center with promising futures.

Carruthers said bringing entrepreneurial experts like Kass to share their insight helps provide current perspectives on building a business from concept to market.

"When we give our business partners, our faculty and our students an opportunity to meet and learn from this caliber of leader in business innovation, it increases their potential for success and supports the center's mission of fostering a network that boosts economic development locally and globally," Carruthers said.

AIN is a network of researchers, policymakers, investors, entrepreneurs and economic development specialists who are working to build a regional innovation pipeline to address gaps in the region's economic development infrastructure. Funded by a grant from the Economic Development Administration's i6 Challenge program, it builds on Arrowhead Center's Launch program, which helps researchers develop their ideas into commercially marketable products.

The reception will take place at Arrowhead Center, 3655 Research Drive, in Genesis Center Building C on the NMSU campus. While reservations are not required, anyone planning to attend is asked to contact Zetdi Runyan Sloan at ati@nmsu.edu or call 575-646-7833.
