PE Exam review offered for electric power professionals

The Engineering New Mexico Resource Network at New Mexico State University will hold a professional engineer exam review on electric power to help individuals prepare for the exam. The course is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, Sept. 24-25, with a special session on codes, standards and safety from 7 to 9 p.m. Sept. 24. The class will cover circuits and power machines, and an introduction to engineering ethics.


This course is recommended for experienced engineers wishing to expand their knowledge of electric power system fundamentals, those who are planning to take the PE exam, and early career engineers.

Howard A. Smolleck, retired NMSU electrical and computer engineering professor, is the instructor.

The course will be held on the NMSU Las Cruces campus. The cost is $1,000 on or before Aug. 20, or $1,250 after Aug. 20. For more information or to register, visit http://www.engr.nmsu.edu/outreach_pe_refresher.shtml.
