Search begun for associate vice president for enrollment management

A search committee at New Mexico State University will begin reviewing applications and nominations for the newly created position of associate vice president for enrollment management Nov. 23, according to Rebecca Dukes, vice president for university advancement and chair of the search committee.


ociate vice president, who will report directly to the vice president for student services/dean of students, will be charged with developing and implementing a campus-wide, team-based approach to aggressive student recruitment and retention, Dukes said.

"We're looking for someone who can provide strong leadership in recruitment and retention of diverse student populations, including a range of ages and ethnic backgrounds," Dukes said.

This administrator will oversee undergraduate admissions, financial aid, registrar, and new student orientation and will work closely with other student services, with communications and marketing, with the undergraduate colleges and the Graduate School, she added.

Besides a track record of success, candidates must possess an understanding of contemporary issues in student services and state-of-the-art enrollment management practices, a command of relevant technology, and a commitment to multi-cultural diversity, among other characteristics, as outlined in the job announcement.
