BARNES AND NOBLE OPEN MIC NIGHTS


Barnes & Noble at NMSU will continue the popular Open Mic performances from 5 to 8 p.m. Fridays. To sign up to perform, contact bncafe@nmsu.edu.

THE ROCK & WORSHIP ROADSHOW

The Rock & Worship Roadshow will take place at the NMSU Pan American Center at 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19. This year's tour will feature Skillet, Third Day, Jamie Grace, Andy Mineo, Royal Tailor, We as Human, The Neverclaim, and Soulfire Revolution with guest speaker, Tony Wolf and a pre-show party with KB.

HAPPY NEW YEAR NMSU CELEBRATION AT TAOS

Happy New Year NMSU Celebration at Taos Restaurant will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 21. DJ Dominic will perform, and featured foods will include Cuban-style roast suckling pig, sausage and lentils with fennel, New Year's orange and brandy cake, and more. This dinner event will cost one meal swipe for those with a meal plan or $7.75 plus tax for those who do not.

ED ASNER AND LORETTA SWIT TO PERFORM "ELEANOR & FDR"

Seven-time Emmy Award winner Ed Asner and two-time Emmy Award winner Loretta Swit will perform their Roosevelt biographical play, "Eleanor & FDR," as a benefit for NMSU Theatre Arts scholarships, local choir Singing Out!, and Safe Haven, a nonprofit humanitarian animal sanctuary.

The two performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, and 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at NMSU's Center for the Arts.

Tickets for "Eleanor & FDR" are $20 to $40, and are available online through Ticketmaster, as well as the Pan American Center box office at 575-646-1420, and the Center for the Arts box office at 575-646-4515.

'TRIO' EXHIBITION OPENS AT THE NMSU UNIVERSITY ART GALLERY

A new exhibition, titled "TRIO," will be on view at the University Art Gallery at NMSU from Jan. 23-March 1. The exhibition will feature work from three contemporary artists who are all adjunct faculty in the NMSU Art Department: Michael Borowski, Frol Boundin and Richard Hesketh. The opening reception for the exhibition will be from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 23. Light refreshments will be served, and the public is encouraged to attend.

The UAG is located in D.W. Williams Hall, at the intersection of University and Solano Avenues. It is open Tuesday through Saturday from noon to 4 p.m., with evening hours from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesdays. Parking on the NMSU campus is free on weekends and after 5 p.m. on weekdays.

THE HARLEM GLOBETROTTERS RETURN TO PAN AMERICAN CENTER

The Harlem Globetrotters will bring their brand new "Fans Rule" show to the NMSU Pan American Center at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4. Tickets are $25, $35, $45 and $82 plus fees.

The NMSU Office of Special Events has partnered with many campus departments and organizations to offer students, faculty and staff multiple ways of winning free tickets to the Harlem Globetrotters basketball game. Opportunities include playing a round of golf at the NMSU Golf Course or dining at Taos Restaurant and registering to win a pair of tickets. Barnes & Noble at NMSU will have students compete in a free throw contest from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, for a chance to win tickets, while ASNMSU will host their own contest at a tabling event on Wednesday, Jan. 29. KRWG, KDBC and KTSM are all planning their own contests.

Pre-selected daycare children will compete in a fun basketball shot contest that will include other fun activities at 10 a.m. on Jan. 28 at Barnes & Noble at NMSU for those interested in coming out and watching them compete.

NMSU ATHLETICS PRESENTS BASKETBALL

NMSU Women's Basketball will take on the University of Missouri-Kansas City at 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, during Women's Basketball Alumni Night, at the Pan American Center on the NMSU campus. During halftime, former NMSU Women's Basketball players will be recognized.
