Expert Background

Kim Oliver is an Associate Professor in Physical Education at New Mexico State University. She is in her third year at NMSU and has taught at The University of Georgia and The University of Alabama. She teaches courses in socio-cultural foundationss of physical education, elementary and secondary physical education methods and supervises student teachers. She earned her B.A. degree in Recreation Administration from California State University at Chico, her M.A. degree in Physical Education from California State University, Fresno and her Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction---Physical Education Teacher Education from Virginia Tech. She has taught K-12 physical education in the public schools, obtained a national grant to support physical education programs, and has published a book and several manuscripts on how adolescent girls learn to experience their bodies.
