NMSU College of Business names first Haight accounting chairholder

The New Mexico State University College of Business has selected Kevin Melendrez as its first Lionel Haight Endowed Chair in Accounting. Melendrez, an associate professor in the Department of Accounting and Information Systems, has served as head of that department since 2012. Professor Larry Tunnell will now step into that role, allowing Melendrez to focus on research and mentoring junior faculty in his role as the accounting department?s first endowed chairholder.

Food and 'Fore!' at NMSU Golf Course

This summer, the NMSU Golf Course offers two different deals at two different times of day.

Book your tee time between noon to 2 p.m. to enjoy 18 holes of golf with cart and lunch at The Player?s Grill for just $32 Monday through Friday or $37 on Saturday and Sunday. Four lunch options are available, including a beef or chicken burrito with a domestic draft beer or fountain drink, any signature hot dog with fries and a domestic draft beer or fountain drink, the Aggie Classic Burger with fries and a fountain drink, or a croissant turkey melt with fries and a fountain drink. You must place your food order before 4 p.m.

Book your tee time between 2 to 4 p.m. and play 18 holes with cart and enjoy any appetizer along with your choice of domestic draft beer or a non-alcoholic beverage for just $32 Monday through Friday or $37 Saturday and Sunday. This offer excludes nachos. Carry out not available.

Blake?s Lotaburger at NMSU is closed

Blake?s Lotaburger, located in Gerald Thomas Hall, has permanently closed. A new restaurant is planned to open this fall semester at that location. Stay tuned for exciting developments about new dining opportunities at NMSU and contact auxservices@nmsu.edu for more information.

Notice regarding parking near Pan American Center, Piņon Hall and Educational Services

The vehicular pass that connects Parking Lots 27 and 29 between Piņon Hall & Pan American Center, as well as the northwest driveway of Lot 30 (free lot across from Pan American Center), will close the morning of Wednesday, June 29, and will reopen no later than Friday, July 1, weather permitting. These areas will undergo maintenance at these times. Besides the buildings listed, these closures may also impact visitors to Educational Services. Please seek alternate avenues in reaching your destinations in and around these parking lots.

'NEOMAGIC' student exhibition seeks submissions

"NEOMAGIC: 2016 Zuhl Student Exhibition" will be held in conjunction with the the University Art Gallery?s 2016 fall exhibition, "GEOMAGIC: Art, Science and the Zuhl Collection." This call is open to all NMSU main campus students. The deadline for submission is 12 a.m. Thursday, July 21. The works for NEOMAGIC will go on display from Sept. 23 through Dec. 7.

All applications will be submitted online through the UAG's Juried Student Show Canvas site. If you need access to the Canvas page, e-mail your first and last name and NMSU e-mail address to artglry@nmsu.edu. The works will be exhibited at the NMSU Zuhl Museum, 775 College Drive, near the northwest campus entrance.

DACC Customized Training class offered

"Get to Know Your Computer" will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 13. The cost is $149. Get your computing skills up to speed. Learn to navigate and manage files/folders. Create word processing documents and drawings. Customize your computer settings, browse the Internet and much more in this fun, hands-on workshop. Offered at the Hatch Center.
